Who are we?
Friends of Hatcham College is the Parent, Teacher, Friends Association that includes all parents and carers of students in Years 7-13 at our College.
We aim to foster a sense of community, raise funds and promote positive contact between parents, teachers and students.

Our Mission
Community Building: We organise events and activities that bring parents, teachers, and students together, creating a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Fundraising: Through various initiatives, we raise funds to support school projects, extracurricular activities, and resources that benefit all students. We engage with parents, carers and teachers to inform our decision-making.

What have we supported?
In recent years, the Friends have funded:
Sound and lighting support for the School Productions
Music stands and instrument repairs for the music department
Funding for inspiring author visits
Subsidised places for Activities Week trips
Support for the Year 7 residential trip
Football and netball kits
Basketball and netball posts
Contributions towards the Year 13 Prom and subsidised their leavers’ hoodies.
Paid for lots of library books
Subsidies for curriculum-enhancing trips
Subscriptions for History and Geography resources
Support for the Young Carers Community within the school
Christmas food parcels for families in our school community.
What are we looking to support?
Examples of recent requests have included:
The English department would like to invite an author in for the day to inspire our students costing £1,000.
The school is looking for support to run an oracy project, to develop students’ ability to articulate ideas, develop understanding and engage with others through spoken language, costs to be confirmed.
The audio-visual equipment in both school halls needs investment costing a minimum of £5,000 for each site, £10,000 total.
The school is looking to run some workshops on addressing gender inequality, £3,500.
House and garden plants to improve the feel of the school for our kids. If you have any to spare, please drop them off at the school office.
Donations of books, uniforms, football boots, etc that your children have grown out of.
